Traffic Homicide
The Hartselle Police Department currently has two officers certified as traffic homicide
investigators. One of the two officers is also certified in accident reconstruction. It is the
responsibility of the traffic homicide investigators to investigate all fatality wrecks, as well
as any wreck involving serious, life threatening injury(s). When a traffic homicide
investigation is initiated, a criminal investigation is conducted. After the investigation is
completed, the results are usually presented to the Morgan County District Attorney if it
appears criminal charges are appropriate.
